The City of Longueuil has introduced regulations to promote responsible water use in lawn watering. These measures aim to encourage better management and conservation practices.
Mechanical Lawn Watering for Residents, Institutions, Businesses, and Industries
Residents who water their lawns with a mechanical system (watering hose) may do so only:
- Between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
- Between 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
When using an automatic system (with timer), the schedule is as follows:
Greenfield Park, watering is permitted:

Watering of Plants
You may water plants, excluding lawns, at any time with a hose equipped with a manual nozzle or a spray gun that has an automatic shut-off.
New Lawn Watering Permit
Property owners who need to water a newly installed lawn or freshly seeded area can request a special permit. This permit is valid for up to 15 days and cannot be renewed. Even with the permit, watering is allowed only from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
