When to water?

From May 1 to October 1, residents may water lawns, gardens, and vegetable patches if there is no rainfall. The schedule depends on the type of installation and the property address.

Automatic systems (sprinklers):

Even numbers: Wednesday and Saturday, 3:00 a.m. to 4:30 a.m.
Odd numbers: Monday and Thursday, 3:00 a.m. to 4:30 a.m.
Manual or mechanical systems:

Even numbers: Tuesday and Friday, 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Odd numbers: Monday and Thursday, 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Businesses and institutions:

Every Monday and Thursday, 3:00 a.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Temporary permits

The City grants special permits for specific situations. For example:

  • New lawns: authorization for 15 consecutive days, cost $20
  • Nematode treatments: free permit valid for 10 days between August 1 and September 15

Residents must request permits online or in person. In addition, they must display them visibly from the street.

Important restrictions
  • Residents cannot clean driveways with a hose, except when preparing for a sealant.
  • They also cannot keep a fountain without a water recirculation system.
  • Moreover, starting in 2025, all automatic systems must include a moisture detector.
